@AlexanderMars@mastodon.social It's so you can be lazy and set the temperature from your phone. Or pick a recipe, and it will set the temp/time as specified.

    @arstechnica@mastodon.social While this is a crappy move, the impact is being blown out of proportion. The devices are still fully functional, unlike those from other brands that require an app for any functionality.

        @fosskers@emacs.ch To be honest, it's been over a decade, so I don't exactly remember. It may have been eo_XX-UTF8, but that's just a guess.

          @fosskers@emacs.ch I used to, but so few applications were properly localized/internationalized. And trying to mix parts of a locale (esp. currency and number formatting), and lack of cohesion across operating systems, makes EO a no-go until the OS suppliers "do the right thing".
