(I used KDE in the late 90s, Gnome before Mate, WM when it was practical, and CDE on Sun thin clients ... looking at the current state of technology—and seeing as she is otherwise deeply entrenched into the Apple ecosystem—there really isn't another better choice.)
@robert There are things in GNOME I like just because I like being an edge lord neck beard. Lol.
The truth is: enshittification has reached from Windows, the "cloud", desktop Linux, and macOS ... nowhere is safe!
@robert Honestly, I like Fedora because it lives in-between Ubuntu/Debian's "lags behind upstream so long each new release is pure hell to upgrade" and Arch's bleeding edge build your own distro from scratch stuff. But yeah, all the Atomics and NixOS are ... blergh.
I loved the idea of atomic builds, but reality got in the way. So, I'm a Fedora man now to simplify servers and clients across 4 different households.
